My latest project is focused on the shorebirds of South-East Queensland. Australia has a fantastic array of shore and seafaring birds which can be found up and down the coast. Some are sedentary and some travel from as far away as Siberia to breed and feed on our shores.
Getting close to some of the species is quite easy as they are habituated to human presence along popular beaches and tidal areas. Other species are more wary and need more care when approaching (particularly when they are nesting).
Here are some of the first images taken along South-East Queensland beaches. All were captured at ground level using a Canon R5 coupled with a RF400mm f/2.8L IS USM lens and extenders.
Cheers,
Russell
